Shelf Installation & Picture Hanging in Bankstown

Fit shelves and hang pictures and mirrors in the right place.

We fit small household shelves and hang pictures and ordinary mirrors, using fixings suited to the item and wall.

Installing small shelves

We fit small shelves where the wall and supplied hardware are suitable. Tell us the shelf length, bracket type and what you want to store on it; the expected load matters as well as its size.

Keep the instructions and mounting parts together. We assess the wall and fixing positions before installation. Heavy storage systems, structural alterations and work to fire-rated walls are excluded.

Shelf weight, brackets and wall type determine suitable fixings.

Hanging pictures and mirrors

List each picture or mirror with its size and weight. Tell us where you want it hung, whether it has mounting hardware and whether you want several frames lined up together.

For ordinary mirrors, both the item and wall need suitable mounting hardware. This is a hanging service, not glazing or safety-glass installation. Large or unusually heavy items need assessment before they are accepted.

Checking the wall before making holes

Plasterboard and brick need different fixings. Concealed pipes and cables, uncertain wall material and access can also affect the job. Tell us what you know about the wall rather than buying fixings just by appearance.

Obtain the necessary permission for rental or common-property walls before work is arranged. Suspected asbestos must not be drilled or disturbed. Electrical work, pipework and cutting structural openings are excluded.

What changes the cost?

The number, size and weight of items, wall material and fixing requirements affect the price. Lining up a group of frames can take more work than hanging one picture.

Include any brackets and fixings you have. We agree whether extra hardware, assembly or finishing around old fixing holes is included.

See the handyman cost guide for published hourly rates and task prices, and what to check in your quote.

Minor repairs and maintenance.

Our service covers minor, non-structural work. Residential building jobs are limited to $5,000 in total, including labour, materials and GST. Electrical, plumbing, gas and other specialist trades are outside this service. The limit applies to the whole job; work cannot be split into smaller invoices to avoid licensing. NSW licensing rules.

What to have ready

  • Item count, sizes and weights
  • Shelf loads and the intended positions
  • Wall type, instructions and supplied mounting hardware
  • Permission for rental or strata work

Have close-up photos and a wider view ready. Describe the job in the form; photographs cannot be uploaded here.

For a rented home, report repairs to the landlord or agent first. Alterations are different from repairing existing damage and may need specific written permission. See the NSW rental repairs guide before making a booking on someone else’s behalf.

Shelves & picture hanging questions

Can you hang a group of pictures together?

Yes. Include the number and sizes of frames and describe the arrangement you want. Have the mounting hardware and a photo of the wall ready.

Do I need to supply wall fixings?

Tell us what came with the item. Fixings need to suit both the wall and the load, so supplied hardware is checked rather than automatically used.

Can you hang a mirror?

We assess ordinary domestic mirrors by size, weight, mounting hardware and wall suitability. Glazing and safety-glass installation are outside this service.

How much will the job cost?

The quote depends on the items, condition, parts and access. We agree the work and price before starting. The cost guide gives third-party benchmarks; those are not our rates.

Can I include other small repairs?

Yes. List each job and the number of items in one request, including any parts supplied. The full job must stay within our minor repair service and NSW licensing limits.

Which suburbs do you cover?

Bankstown and nearby suburbs, including Bankstown Aerodrome, Condell Park, Yagoona, Bass Hill, Georges Hall, Chester Hill, Sefton, Birrong, Potts Hill, Greenacre, Punchbowl, Mount Lewis, Revesby, Padstow, Milperra. Include your suburb in the request so the location and access can be checked.
