We assemble flat-pack beds, desks, tables, drawer units and freestanding shelves using the manufacturer’s instructions.
What furniture can we assemble?
We assemble ordinary household furniture, including bed frames, desks, dining tables, chests of drawers and freestanding shelving. Include the product name or a link in your request so we can see what is involved.
A small table and a drawer unit have different parts and assembly steps. List each item separately, including the number of boxes and whether they are already in the room where the furniture will be used.

Before the assembly
Keep the instructions, panels and fittings together. Check for damaged panels or missing parts, and leave enough floor space to lay the pieces out. Tell us about stairs or a large item that needs moving first.
If the kit is incomplete, the missing part may need to come from the supplier before assembly can finish. We follow the supplied instructions rather than improvise fittings that could leave the furniture unstable.
Wall anchoring and the finished item
Some furniture needs anti-tip fixing to a wall. Tell us if the instructions require it, and include any supplied brackets. Wall suitability and permission need checking before an anchoring method is agreed.
Furniture assembly does not include fitted kitchens, structural joinery, electrical work or changes to fire-rated walls. If you rent, obtain the necessary permission for wall fixings before the work is arranged.
What changes the cost?
The product design, number of items and access affect the quote. Drawer units, large wardrobes and items needing wall anchoring can involve more work than a simple desk or table.
Include any requested box disposal, furniture moving or anchoring in the original job list. These are not assumed to be included in assembly.
See the handyman cost guide for published hourly rates and task prices, and what to check in your quote.
Our service covers minor, non-structural work. Residential building jobs are limited to $5,000 in total, including labour, materials and GST. Electrical, plumbing, gas and other specialist trades are outside this service. The limit applies to the whole job; work cannot be split into smaller invoices to avoid licensing. NSW licensing rules.
What to have ready
- Product names or links and number of items
- Instructions and a complete set of fittings
- Whether boxes are upstairs or already in the right room
- Any required wall anchoring and the relevant permission
Have close-up photos and a wider view ready. Describe the job in the form; photographs cannot be uploaded here.
For a rented home, report repairs to the landlord or agent first. Alterations are different from repairing existing damage and may need specific written permission. See the NSW rental repairs guide before making a booking on someone else’s behalf.
Flat-pack assembly questions
What information do you need for an assembly quote?
The product name or link, item count, number of boxes and access details. Mention wall anchoring, furniture moving or box disposal if you want those assessed too.
What happens if a part is missing?
A missing or damaged part may prevent the item being finished safely. Check the kit before the work is arranged and contact the furniture supplier about replacements.
Can you assemble several items?
Yes. List each product and quantity in one request. The quote is based on the full list, including access and any mounting requirements.
How much will the job cost?
The quote depends on the items, condition, parts and access. We agree the work and price before starting. The cost guide gives third-party benchmarks; those are not our rates.
Can I include other small repairs?
Yes. List each job and the number of items in one request, including any parts supplied. The full job must stay within our minor repair service and NSW licensing limits.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Bankstown and nearby suburbs, including Bankstown Aerodrome, Condell Park, Yagoona, Bass Hill, Georges Hall, Chester Hill, Sefton, Birrong, Potts Hill, Greenacre, Punchbowl, Mount Lewis, Revesby, Padstow, Milperra. Include your suburb in the request so the location and access can be checked.
